Burnout Among Neurologists

Burnout Among Neurologists

What factors contributed to burnout among US neurologists in 2016?

A total of 4,127 neurologists were surveyed using validated measurements of burnout, career satisfaction, and well-being. The results were published in the journal Neurology.

Greater burnout risk was associated with: hours worked/week, nights on call/week, number of outpatients seen/week, and amount of clerical work.

Meaningful work, job autonomy, effective support staff, and epilepsy sub-specialization were associated with a lower risk.
